Electric Vehicles

With the growing number of fully-electric vehicles on the road and infrastructure to support travel, Arizona is excited to provide unique itineraries and resources to assist in planning a safe and fun road trip - with zero tailpipe emissions!  Please note that these maps and suggestions are for planning purposes.  Consult the Travel Advisories page for road closures and severe weather information. Itineraries

Below are overnight itineraries tailored specifically for electric vehicle travelers, combining points of interest and charging locations.  Available as a downloadable PDF document, each itinerary includes the following resources: an Arizona state map, emergency contact information, weather and elevation charts, and a list of hotels that make charging available to overnight guests.  The routes use PlugShare charging station information, which can also be accessed below to find charging near you, or create your own point-to-point directions.  For more community-based activities, see the Events Calendar or stop by a Visitor Center for local information and brochures.

 California to Arizona:

  Los Angeles Road Trip*

  Highlights: Route 66, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Scottsdale and Phoenix

  * Designed specifically for the Tesla Model S, this route utilizes the Tesla Supercharger network.

 Within Arizona:

  Phoenix to Southern Arizona Road Trip

  Highlights: Tucson, Tombstone, Bisbee and Sierra Vista
